All your base. Base. Base. All your base. Are belong to us.
Allrighty then, nerdiness aside, I have been, the past two days, at the a regional for FIRST Robotics, and WOW has it been fun! I have met so many people, and have gotten many complements on my Binary scarf (pattern on Knitty). So far, our team has played 7 matches, and won three of them. This is wayyy better than we did last year, as our previous robot had a lot of problems with its design.
However, as with any competition, there were some ‘off’ times, where most of us sat around with absolutely nothing to do. But I? No, not I! I brought my knitting.
I started the Razor Cami (from OhMyStars.com) using size 5 circulars and Lion Brand Baby Soft yarn in a pale yellow color. I don’t really like the color; does anyone have any suggestions for dying it? Would RIT dye work?
Anyways, I have about 6″ done so far, including the bottom ribbing. I think I may try my hand at making a sweater after I finish this garment. Has anyone tried any good fitted sweater patterns, with or without buttons, that can be made with cheap-ish easily obtained yarn? I’m thinking maybe a side-button cardigan is the kind of thing I’m looking for.
Well, it’s getting late, and I have to get up at 6:30 tomorrow. Toodles!

finally accepted into Ravelry! (My name’s VeganPickles on there too)
Agh… school was long today.
I got to knit during lunch though. I finished one arm of Kate. So that was good. I’m wondering if I should give her away… maybe to my best friend Andrea? I thing I might.
Tomorrow is gonna be great. Why? FIRST ROBOTICS KICKOFF! I’m so excited. My team’s going to this one highschool to watch the video and stuff to see what our goals for this year are going to be for our robot. I’m reaaaally excited, except for the fact that the first part is probably going to be boring like last year. I’m going to bring my knitting (of course!). I think I might cast on the baby blanket for Baby K from the back of my LB Babysoft Yarn. I don’t remember what size needles I need though. I need to check that.
I’m still brewing some ideas for patterns to either a) post here for free, or b) try to publish, if I really think it’s good enough. I would really like to get a pattern published, especially since I’ve been dabbling with the idea of going into some sort of crafty yarn business…
I’ll take some pictures tonight and try to update this weekend if I can.
